Throughout history, artists have been fascinated with the human form. I love painting quiet, peaceful, introspective moments, when doing figurative, paintings, and portrait paintings,

     The Raramuri (running people), are the Tarahumara; indigenous inhabitants of the Sierra Madres. They have lived in the Copper Canyons of Chihuahua, Mexico for centuries. They live in rock caves and small cabins. They are now suffering a time of failed crops and poverty, and have a high mortality rate.
     Two fellow artists and I, have planned several fundraisers, on their behalf.  I have recently returned from another painting trip there. My studies done from life. and other paintings, from my extensive photo reference,  hopefully show the beauty of these remote and gentle people, and of the extraordinary land where they live.  I hope you enjoy these paintings, as much as I love doing them.

I grew up on my family's ranch in South Central Colorado. That is where my heart is. In my landscape paintings I strive for drama and color, while hoping to create a sense of tranquility in your spirit.

Still Life painting is vital to the study of applied painting, in any medium. It comprises all of the elements of art and has been a constant form of inspiration to artists throughout history.

 
Domestic or wildlife painting is fun and exciting. Capturing the likeness, mood, and spirit of the individual animal, is the challenge.
